About Us

Ending Senior Hunger in Chautauqua County

For more than 40 years, Meals on Wheels of the Jamestown Area has helped older adults in Chautauqua County remain safe, nourished, and independent at home. Each month, over 10,000 meals are prepared and delivered by a team of caring staff and volunteers.

But the food is only part of the story.

Every delivery provides three essentials:

Nutritious Meals

planned by dietitians to support health and reduce hospital visits.

Friendly Visits

that offer companionship and brighten each day.

Peace of Mind

through a wellness check that often identifies issues before they become emergencies.

Who We Serve

Meals on Wheels is available to seniors across Chautauqua County. Many of the people we help are:

  • Living alone without nearby family or friends

  • Recovering from illness or surgery

  • Limited by physical or cognitive challenges that make cooking difficult

  • Struggling to maintain a healthy diet on their own

Meals on Wheels makes it possible for neighbors to remain at home with dignity.

Powered by Community

Founded by volunteers, the program continues to thrive because of community support. Drivers, donors, and local partners make it possible to deliver thousands of meals each week. Organizations such as Subaru and the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County provide vital support, while hundreds of individuals give their time and resources.

Why It Matters

A home-delivered meal costs a fraction of institutional care and allows older adults to remain where they feel most comfortable. Each delivery also provides connection and reassurance, ensuring that no one is left unseen or unsupported.
