You can volunteer each week to help deliver meals for Meals on Wheels.  There are 17 total delivery routes for Meals on Wheels each day, with eight of those routes delivered by volunteers.  Those routes are:

Route B – Lakewood area route, with meal recipients living in Lakewood and towards Ashville.  The meal drop-off location is the Fitness Bunker.

Route C – Covenant Manor, at 23 W. Third St., Jamestown. The meal drop-off location is the apartments.

Route D – Falconer area route, with meal recipients living in the Falconer area, including the Methodist Garden Apartments located behind Falconer High School on East Avenue.  The meal drop-off location is 4 Carter St., Falconer.

Route E – Celoron area route, with meal recipients living in the Celoron area, including streets intersecting Fairmount Avenue.  The meal drop-off location is the Celoron Village Hall on Boulevard Avenue.

Each of these routes take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete by volunteers using their own vehicle.  The routes contain a manageable number of clients – usually between 8 and 14 individuals.  These routes can be completed by lone individuals, but many volunteers pair up on their own to deliver the meals.  A Meals on Wheels staff member will guide the volunteer the first time that volunteer delivers on a route.  Volunteers are asked to deliver one day each week.

Volunteer availability on these routes can change frequently.  If you are interested in volunteering for Meals on Wheels on a particular route, call the Meals on Wheels office at 488-9119.
